Journalist murdered in Oakland

A journalist was shot several times by a masked gunman, in broad daylight in downtown Oakland August 2, apparently in connection with a story he was writing about an offshoot Black Muslim group, most known for its business, Your Black Muslim Bakery. Police raided the bakery the following day and arrested seven people, charging one of them with the murder. The murdered reporter was Chauncey Bailey, age 57, editor of the Oakland Post.
